If toilet is leaking bad, shut off water!

If water comes out the bottom only when flushing, assume it's the  wax ring  or flange seal.

Use toilet paper as it will turn dark and show moisture.

Put paper on the floor around the toilet.

Start at the top of the toilet tank lid. (if the tank is wet, it's possible

condensation from a running toilet) (or a loose hose from the fill valve

flush assist).

Put some toilet paper in your hand, start from the top and daub every

where there is a hole, opening or connection.

Work your way down the toilet. Check the toilet paper every couple

seconds. (gravity pulls water down)

Concentrate on the bolts that hold tank to the bowl. (most common) If

their wet, we will assume the problem is there. But wait, lets be sure.

Make sure it is not the gasket.
